Karen Walters

Hand carved from swamp kauri estimated to be 50,000 years old, Karen Walters’ sculptures are aesthetically organic and reflect the form, lines and shales of the New Zealand landscapes. They also explore concepts of inner conflict and growth.
Karen uses stained glass in her sculptures to provide a contrast to the texture, colour and reflective qualities of the wood and to enhance the meaning of the work.
